I've got a little secret - I don't follow the mainstream.
I was raised in a culture that celebrated individuality and unapologetic girl empowerment. While other kids were finding ways to fit in, I thought about how I could upset a stereotype and take a task next level at a young age. I questioned the norm, leaned heavily on my work ethic, took risks (especially in popularity), and dared to be different. But more specifically, dared to think different.
Back in third grade, I mashed up my two favorite physical education games to make my own game. I asked the teacher if I could lead the class and play it.
Guess what? I did!
That experience taught me something valuable - I can make my own opportunities, but also trailblaze a path for others.
As a 2023 UC Davis design graduate and current Top 1% UX Voice on LinkedIn, I advocate for design-led strategies and community initiatives, actively mentoring early-career designers and students.
On work hours, I design B2B and B2C interfaces for small businesses and startups. My 10-year goal is to become a growth designer or product manager, leading strategy and education.
I am currently seeking full-time opportunities to improve my design autonomy and empower student designers along the way.
Bringing value to the team
I start the design conversation – not just with users, but with all stakeholders.
I act as a collaboration multiplier, advocating user experience through my design thinking, artifacts, and storytelling in co-creation with my developer and product counterparts.
I identify edge cases and align the problem's impact on customers with the business (cost savings, regulatory compliance, etc.) to increase stakeholder buy-in and secure resources for implementation.
My commitment to community
Designed to engage,
Built to connect,
Driven to share.
Design to me is about people and building experiences that are intimate, personal, and trustworthy. It is a medium for me to craft thoughtful interactions that guide us, shape our perspectives, and occasionally, help us find purpose.
Committed to growing my community, I advised 100+ design students and judged at three 2024 design competitions: Difest, HackDavis, and UCLA Design-a-thon. I challenged teams' design thinking process and optimized their workflow, leading to winning competition awards.
My research frameworks and UX curriculums are reused today for #include and Davis Design Interactive.
